چکیده
This article deals with the ability to perform radar cross section (RCS) pattern measurements within reverberation chambers (RCs). The characterization principle is based on estimation of backscattered field from target at a far-field distance and takes advantage diffuse RC. A frequency sweep scattering parameters achieved in presence absence installed rotating mast, retrieved these measurements. explains underlying theory discusses impact several performances. includes effect stirrer rotation, which enables enhance dynamic range Experiments two different RCs show relevance proposed approach for RCS extraction confirm theoretical analysis.

Absorbing Cross Section in Reverberation Chamber: Experimental and Numerical Re- Sults
Reverberation chamber (RC) test facility allows to determine the absorbing cross section (ACS) of lossy materials under a random field excitation. Measurements are based on the quality factor variation produced by the sample under test presence with respect to the empty chamber condition. Simulations are based on the representation of the RC electromagnetic field by means of a random plane wave...
متن کاملIn-situ EMI Measurements Using a Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber
A new reverberation chamber with varying angles between wall, floor and ceiling and with vibrating walls is used for in-situ testing of a large radar antenna system. Inside this Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber (VIRC) a diffuse, statistically uniform electromagnetic field is created without the use of a mechanical, rotating, mode stirrer. This chamber results in a better homogeneity an...
متن کاملRadar Cross Section Measurements of Frequency Selective Terahertz Retroreflectors
The radar cross section of spherical retroreflectors operating at terahertz frequencies is investigated. Several spherical retroreflectors with diameters ranging from 2 mm to 8 mm were fabricated and their radar cross section was measured at 100 GHz, 160 GHz, and 350 GHz. A frequency selective surface was applied to the retroreflectors to demonstrate proof of concept of narrow-band terahertz re...
متن کاملActive Calibration Target for Bistatic Radar Cross-Section Measurements
Either passive calibration targets are expensive and complex to manufacture or their bistatic RCS levels are significantly lower than the monostatic RCS levels of targets such as spheres, dihedraland trihedral corner reflectors. In this paper the performance of an active calibration target with relative high bistatic RCS values is illustrated as a reference target for bistatic RCS measurements....
